Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, grimpante, à tiges minces, prostrées à dressées, poilues, généralement très ramifiées depuis la base.

Feuilles alternes, composées paripennées, à 6 à 16 folioles obovales à oblongues, échancrées ou comme tronquées au sommet, à vrille ramifiée. Stipules entières avec une tache à la base.

Fleurs à symétrie bilatérale, jaune clair, parfois veinées de pourpre, de 18 à 30 mm de long, à court pédoncule, solitaires à l’aisselle des feuilles. Corolle papilionacée à étendard velu. Calice à 5 dents presque égales, plus courtes que le tube du calice. Ovaire supère.

Fruits, gousses droites, de 25 à 30 mm de long, pendantes, couvertes de poils fins quand elles sont immatures, devenant velues et brunes à maturité.

Flowers bilaterally symmetrical, pale yellow, sometimes with purple veins, from 18 to 30 mm long, with a short peduncle, solitary at the axil of the leaves. Corolla papilionaceous with a very hairy standard. Calyx with 5 nearly equal teeth shorter than the tube of the calyx. Ovary superior.

Fruits, straight pods from 25 to 30 mm long, hanging, covered in thin hairs when immature, becoming very hairy and brown at maturity.

= résultat du croisement d’une truie et d’un sanglier ] = métissé,

hybride.

Vicia : borrowed from Latin vicia, -ae (noun) = vetch, name given to

the plant by Plinius, Latin naturalist died in 79 AD, Latinized form of

the Classical Greek βικία, -ας (noun) = vetch.

Hybrida : adjective created by botanists [ < hybrida, -ae (noun)

= result of crossbreeding of a sow and a wild boar ] = hybrid.
