Plante ligneuse, hermaphrodite, sans tige.
Feuilles disposées en rosette, simples, linéaires, dentées, terminées par une longue épine noire, d’un vert grisâtre ou bleuâtre, très robustes, atteignant 2 mètres de long.
Fleurs à symétrie radiaire, jaunes, réunies par 20 à 30 en bouquet aplati à ramifications horizontales, portées par une hampe florale ligneuse de 3 à 10 mètres de hauteur. Ovaire infère.
Fruits, grosses capsules.

Plant woody, hermaphrodite, stemless.
Leaves laid out in a rosette, simple, linear, toothed, finished by a long black thorn, of a greyish or bluish green, very robust, reaching 2 meters long.
Flowers radially symmetrical, yellow, joined together by 20 to 30 in flattened cluster with horizontal ramifications, carried by a woody floral pole from 3 to 10 m in height. Ovary inferior.
Fruits, big capsules.
