Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, à tiges dressées, poilues.

Feuilles alternes, orbiculaires à cordiformes, terminées en pointe, entières ou légèrement dentées, poilues, longuement pétiolées.

Fleurs à symétrie radiaire, jaunes, réunies en petits bouquets de 3 à 6 cm de large à l’aisselle des feuilles, à pédoncule plus court que la feuille sous-jacente. Corolle à 5 pétales libres ou un peu soudés à la base, de 7 à 13 mm de long, bilobés. Calice à 5 sépales soudés à la base. Pas de calicule. Étamines nombreuses, soudées en tube, poilues. Ovaire supère.

Fruits, anneaux de 5 à 30 carpelles noirs, velus, chacun terminé par 2 cornes et contenant 2 à 9 graines.

Flowers radially symmetrical, yellow, joined together in small clusters from 3 to 6 cm across at the axil of the leaves, with a peduncle shorter than the underlying leaf. Corolla with 5 petals free or a little partly fused, from 7 to 13 mm long, two-lobed. Calyx with 5 sepals partly fused. No epicalyx. Many hairy stamens, fused in tube. Ovary superior.

Fruits, rings of 5 to 30 black, hairy carpels, each with 2 horns and containing 2 to 9 seeds.
