Sous-arbrisseau hermaphrodite, très rameux, sentant le thym, à poils gris.

Feuilles opposées, simples, oblongues ou ovales, dentées, de 7 à 20 mm de long, pointues, à poils rudes, ponctuées de glandes.

Fleurs à symétrie bilatérale, rose vif ou pourpre rougeâtre, de 8 à 12 mm de long, réunies en verticilles ronds, étagés et espacés. Calice à 5 sépales égaux, velus, pointus, souvent rougeâtres, à soies et à 10 nervures. Ovaire supère.

Fruits, 4 akènes.

Leaves opposite, simple, oblong or ovate, toothed, from 7 to 20 mm long, pointed, with hard hairs, with scattered glands.

Flowers bilaterally symmetrical, bright pink or reddish purple, from 8 to 12 mm long, joined together in round, tiered and spaced whorls. Calyx with 5 equal, very hairy, pointed, often reddish sepals, with bristles and with 10 veins. Ovary superior.

Fruits, 4 achenes.
