Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, robuste, à souche ligneuse, à tiges dressées ou ascendantes, poilues.

Feuilles alternes, divisées palmatifides, réniformes à arrondies, dentées, de 40 mm de long, à 3 à 7 lobes arrondis et de profondeur variable, à pétiole plus long que le limbe.

Fleurs à symétrie radiaire, roses ou pourpres, à veines plus sombres, de 30 à 50 mm de diamètre, à long pédoncule, réunies par 2 ou plus en bouquets à l’aisselle des feuilles. Corolle à 5 pétales de 12 à 30 mm de long, de plus de 8 mm dans leur plus grande largeur, à peine soudés à la base, barbus, ne se chevauchant pas, bilobés, 3 à 4 fois plus longs que les sépales, plus foncés que chez Lavatera cretica. Calice à 5 sépales soudés à la base et étroits. Calicule à 3 bractées libres entre elles, poilues, elliptiques, plus étroites que chez Lavatera cretica. Étamines nombreuses, soudées en tube, poilues. Ovaire supère.

Fruits, akènes réticulés en surface.

Leaves alternate, dissected palmatifid, kidney-shaped to rounded, toothed, 40 mm long, with 3 to 7 rounded lobes and of variable depth, with a petiole longer than the blade.

Flowers radially symmetrical, pink or purple, with darker veins, from 30 to 50 mm in diameter, with a long peduncle, joined together by 2 or more in clusters at the axil of the leaves. Corolla with 5 petals from 12 to 30 mm long, more than 8 mm in their greater width, scarcely partly fused, barbed, not overlapping, two-lobed, 3 to 4 times longer than the sepals, darker than in Lavatera cretica. Calyx with 5 partly fused and narrow sepals. Epicalyx with 3 hairy bracts, free between them, elliptic, narrower than Lavatera cretica. Stamens numerous, fused in tube, hairy. Ovary superior.

Fruits, achenes reticulate on the surface.
