Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, moyennement odorante, à tiges à section plus ou moins triangulaire, bordées de 2 ailes.
Feuilles à la base, simples, linéaires à lancéolées, entières ou denticulées, de 35 cm de long au plus, en général au nombre de 2 ou 4, à carène saillante au revers, engainant le quart inférieur de la tige. Une seule bractée membraneuse se maintenant sur la plante à l’épanouissement entoure les fleurs en bouton.
Fleurs à symétrie radiaire, blanches, de 15 à 20 mm de diamètre, à long pédicelle, sur des ombelles hémisphériques de 5 à 10 cm de diamètre. Ovaire supère.
Fruits, capsules de 4 à 5 mm de diamètre, entourées des tépales desséchés.

Plant herbaceous, hermaphrodite, moderately odorous. Stems with a more or less triangular section, bordered by 2 wings.
Leaves at the base, simple, linear to lanceolate, entire or denticulate, 35 cm long at most, in general amounting to 2 or 4, with a protruding keel on the reverse, sheathing the lower quarter of the stem. Only one membranous bract maintained on the plant at blooming surrounds the budding flowers.
Flowers radially symmetrical, white, from 15 to 20 mm in diameter, with long pedicel, on hemispherical umbels from 5 to 10 cm in diameter. Ovary superior.
Fruits, capsules from 4 to 5 mm in diameter, surrounded by the desiccated tepals.
