Plante herbacée, hermaphrodite, très mince, délicate, glabre, à bulbe.
Feuilles à la base, simples, linéaires, cylindriques, de 1 mm de large, plus courtes que les tiges florales, vert bleuâtre, glabres, 1 ou 2 par bulbe, apparaissant souvent en fin de floraison.
Fleurs à symétrie radiaire, blanches, de 18 à 42 mm de diamètre, solitaires ou par 2. Hampe florale glabre, cylindrique. Périanthe à 6 tépales oblongs, pointus, unis, soudés en tube terminé au sommet par une couronne orange de 1 à 2 mm de profondeur. Pédicelles de longueur inégale, entourés à la base d’une spathe membraneuse. 6 étamines (3 grandes et 3 petites), orange, non saillantes. Ovaire infère.
Fruits, capsules vertes, à 3 valves, de 10 mm de long et de 4 à 5 mm de diamètre.

Leaves at the base, simple, linear, cylindrical, 1 mm across, shorter than the floral poles, bluish green, glabrous, 1 or 2 per bulb, often appearing after flowering time.
Flowers radially symmetrical, white, from 18 to 42 mm in diameter, solitary or by 2. Floral pole glabrous, cylindrical. Perianth with 6 oblong, pointed, self-coloured tepals, fused in tube finished at the top by an orange crown from 1 to 2 mm deep. Pedicels of unequal length, surrounded at the base by a membranous spathe. 6 stamens (3 large and 3 small), orange, nonprotruding. Ovary inferior.
Fruits, green capsules with 3 valves, 10 mm long and 4 to 5 mm in diameter.
